Which Elements Need to be Simplified in a Blog Design

The most popular of all blogging platforms is still WordPress, although there are other very good ones now on the web. The reason why it is so popular is because it offers so many options that allow you to customize the way your blog looks and the feel users can get from browsing the pages and the various interaction options that allow you to communicate with the readers of your content.

These numerous options can also be a negative aspect if you do not use them as you need them. Overuse of the various elements can cause your blog to be bloated and to overloaded, rendering the users’ experience a negative one. Try and avoid excessive elements and simply use your content first as it will be readily available and easy on a stylistic perspective.

Amongst the many options there are a few fundamental elements that should be emphasized in your blog in order to have an impact on your readers:

The first element to simplify is your design and make sure it compliments your content, if you want it to attract readers. Most readers find it so relaxing to find the content they were looking for straight away, without having to look all over the blog for it. Make sure that your WordPress blog theme will highlight your content as soon as the readers come on to your blog.

The comments area is considered by many readers as a great area in which to interact and exchange opinions, however many comment areas can be extremely confusing, as there are so many plug-ins and features that makes it difficult to interact. Try to keep this area as simple as possible, and your best option is to use the default comment box, which works perfectly well.

Social networking has become a must today and it is very important to share your blogs with the major social networks. However, here again keep it simple and make it easy to get to your post or share it with others. Your best option is definitely to keep your blog attractive by using a few icons that represent social networks on a single post layer, as this will be easier to visualize and speed up the loading time of your front page.

You can add style to your icons, by for example adding a sharing tool that scrolls on the side of your content without disturbing readers, but it is there if they wish to use this option. Make the right choices to compliment your content and you will find that there are many readers that will appreciate simplicity and real content that is useful not just flashy.

Spend some time making all the right and necessary changes that although small can make a huge difference to your blog and the way people can read your posts. You will find traffic increasing and will get good results. This will also allow you some space for advertising if your blog becomes popular and bring some additional revenue.
