What is it that induces readers to stay on a website in the end? The effectiveness of the content, do doubt.

If you want a website to be successful the content must be attention-grabbing, useful and should compel the readers want to remain on that website because it is helping them in some way. Just as a web designer carefully programs and crafts the design, so should the text be given the same attention.

There are quite a few issues that could render content defective in the development of a web project, and it is important to know how to avoid mistakes concerning text within a web page. The following examples are mistakes that can be frequently found in Web content and that contribute to harm the overall quality of a Website. In order to avoid these, it is important to be able to recognize them.

The first trap most web designers often fall into is the inward-focus syndrome. It is quite easy to fall into this error, as professionals spend hours on complicated graphic issues concerning the product and services they are producing and simply cannot take a step outside this sphere to be able to give an objective judgment about their work. When writing the very first paragraphs of the home page it is essential you lead the readers to the main issue immediately and motivate them to continue reading. A writer may be talented, but if he or she is not acquainted with Web writing methods, their writing may be of quality but lacking in directness, thus straying away from the main point.


When people land on a Website they quickly browse through the content, they are not likely to read the text from beginning to the end. The first thing most readers will be attracted to is the headline and the first couple of lines in the text. All that follows will be irrelevant if the headline and first paragraph do not stand out.


If you really think about how text works within the Website, it becomes obvious that the content on a page is in fact not the most important text in the Web document. What is essential is the Meta material, as these have a fundamental influence on how users will browse through the pages within the Website. These elements are pieces of HTML code that search engines read in order to find content. There are however, two Meta tags that relate to readers directly, this is why it is important to craft them accordingly, the Meta title and the Meta description.
