Content visibility in wordpress site

Content visibility is the ability to dictate accessibility to the content. Pages, posts and comments on your wordpress blog can be designed for different people depending on the preferences you have included. Some pages are only meant for the owner while other pages and posts are meant for the public or those users who have passwords to access the information. Content visibility is changed by the use of plugins depending on how you would like your site to be accessed.
If you are planning on creating a web blog or site that can be accessed by everyone, then the content visibility of the site will have to be public. This means that the site can be accessed by every person who has interest in reading your posts and other content. If you are not experienced on how to change this, you do not have to worry. All sites whether wordpress or otherwise are usually public by default. Therefore, you site can be accessed by everyone as soon as you have finalized the development process.

On the other hand, you may be having a site whose visibility settings were previously changed and you would like to introduce content that can be viewed by all people. In such a case, you will have to go to the publish button or tab located at the top right part of the edit panel and change the settings accordingly. There are three options available on the edit panel, public, password protected and private options with check boxes to the left hand side. You will check on the public option and click on the OK button. Once you have executed that option, all the people willing to visit that content will be able to.

Sometimes, you may have content and other information that can only be accessed by certain persons. This is especially so for a site that requires a person to register with a username and password. Either the whole site or individual pages and posts will be restricted from all people and can only be accessed by those people having the relevant passwords. If you are planning on having a site that will have password restrictions or posts that are password protected, then you have to know how to change these settings accordingly. These settings are changed by visiting the edit panel under the publish button and check on the password protected option of the three options provided followed y clicking on the OK button. This application is executed as soon as you click on the Ok button. This literally means that the particular page, post or site cannot be accessed unless the correct password is provided.

When creating a site, you may find it necessary to create individual or private pages, posts and comments that cannot be accessed by any other person other than you. This will call for restriction of these posts and pages. You will just go to the edit panel located under the publish button and change the settings of the page, posts and comments to private and execute. That action bars all people other than you to access those pages, posts and comments.
